Lehigh Township police said the discovery Friday of a Japanese mortar shell in a vacant home caused a road closure and visit from the bomb squad. Police shut down Hawthorne Road for several hours to traffic and pedestrians until crews were able to inspect the device, said police Chief Scott Fogel….
